Groupon Deal Scenario

For those of you who didn't jump on this deal yesterday, many cities are still offering the Groupon for $20 for a $40 gift certificate to The Body Shop.  One way you can maximize your use of this Groupon is to go through Ebates, which is currently offering 6% cash back on Groupon purchases.  Additionally, if you're not yet signed up for Ebates, you can earn $5 for signing up.  With the $5 new member credit and 6% cash back, you could essentially snag the $40 certificate for $13.80 (that's 65.5% off).  PLUS, if you wait to use your certificate until just after Christmas, you will likely be able to score some sweet deals when you combine this Groupon with the post-holiday sales!  For example, if items go on sale for around 75% off after the holidays (which is typical for these types of stores) and then you use your Groupon, which is essentially a 65.5% off coupon, you could snag some items for over 90% off the retail price!  WOW!  To get in on this deal, follow these steps:.

• Register for Groupon by going here (If you are already registered, skip this step).
• Close the Groupon windown and go here to register for Ebates & earn $5 cash back (only new members will earn $5 cash back)
• Search for "Groupon" on the Ebates site and click "shop now" to be taken to the Groupon site, where you will earn 6% off your Groupon purchase
• Go to one of the following cities and purchase your Body Shop Groupon: Bakersfield, Fresno, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Orange County, Phoenix, Portland, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle, Spokane, Tuscon, and Ventura County
• You will need to pay $20 out of pocket for the Groupon, but then you should receive a check from Ebates for $6.20 ($5 new member credit & $1.20 from the 6% cash back on your Groupon purchase).  I recently received my first Ebates check, worth about ~$8, so I can vouch for the legitimacy of the company!
